OUR BACKGROUND

Once people’s dignity is safeguarded, everything else will fall into place

DIGNITY FIRST SOMALIA (DFS)- is a non-profit organization registered in Somalia under the ministry of interior and internal affairs, with reference to Registration No. NGOD/Moifar0248/022

DIGNITY FIRST SOMALIA (DFS) was established on 15th May 2017 to contribute to efforts to find solutions to challenges facing marginalized, Minority and vulnerable population in Somalia through promoting Human Dignity and Inclusive Humanitarian Assistance to help local them rebuild their lives following decades of internal conflict, strife and climatic shocks.

Our Programs

Gender Based Violence

We aim to strengthen case management through direct service provision for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and immediate lifesaving assistance to vulnerable populations through comprehensive case management and psycho-social support (PSS), including emergency care, referral to medical teams.

Child Protection

We support girls and boys have adequate access to child protection services and are protected from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation at home and in the community, and ensures that affected children are receiving appropriate support through the case management process.

Education

We support communities access in a dignified way, while coordinating with government ministries and other stakeholders focusing on quality education. In its programmes, DIGNITY FIRST SOMALIA will focus on children from most vulnerable, marginalized and minority have equally rights to a quality basic education with supports from Donors and education cluster.

Mohamed has a vast experience and network within the humanitarian system and he is also passionate about the plight of the minority, marginalized and vulnerable communities by facilitating equitable access to humanitarian services.
